Hey Alicia, I BET we coudl have some fun together!

From the SOUNDS of it, without seeing anything, I would lean into BM White Dove OVER Alabaster as it’s not as yellow. Pure White is pretty too, but White Dove stainds up a bit better to lower/flatter lights. For the sheen, I personally love matte walls, flat ceilings, and satin trims and doors 🙂

And having ADHD too, we both know how much we can OVERANALYZE things – I hope this gives you some purposeful guidance ;).

Hi Kylie! I LOVE your posts and website!! I soo wish you were here with me now to help! We could drink some wine and connect over design choices! I'm struggling. I have a small end unit townhome- 1000 Sq feet open floor plan- 2 bedrooms, one on each end. The main area of the home faces north. One bedroom faces east, the other west. Kitchen is closed off . Hardly any natural lighting in the north end where combo living, dining and kitchen are located. I'm redoing everything and starting from scratch. Starting with paint and floors. I feel a neutral color carried through the whole home will work best since it's smaller. I've painted a section of wall Alabaster. I'm going to go get Pure White and Benjamin Moore White Dove and paint those colors near the Alabaster for comparison. What would you recommend for a whole house color with the description above? What about color for trim/ceiling/doors/baseboards and sheen? I'll also be putting in all new floors - lvp and need to finalize color and brand....will also be redoing kitchen. In reply to Tina. Hiya! If you end up with Pure White (which I've done with this same countertop), I might hit up their contractor grade paint in flat finish. The HIGHEST I would go is Opulence/Cashmere, and I would do Pure White on the ceiling too :)

Your blog has been SO helpful to me as I try to update our older ’80s home. I’ve pored over posts, ordered wall samples and compared so many. We’ve narrowed our choices down to Pure White and/or White Dove. I slightly prefer White Dove, but it isn’t as cohesive with the Calacatta Marble laminate countertops and similar-toned backsplash. I know when painting walls white, you recommend painting the trim and ceiling the same shade but in different sheens – is there a specific SW paint you recommend for ceilings?
